Felting Fleece Carded Wool Batt - Slightly Felted
The Felted Ewe proudly offers the highest quality Needle Felting Wool in a wide variety of yummy colors & textures! Our Felting Fleece is a mix of different New Zealand sheep breeds such as Rylend, Suffolk, Shetland, Romney and Jacob. These fibers are carded into long, thin strips of varying widths then hand dyed & processed by a reputable company in Nepal that primarily hires local women, helping them to thrive in their communities. This dying process causes the strips to become slightly felted yet still leaves them easy to pull apart & fluff up or use as is.
These thin batts are perfect for Needle Felting, Needle Felted Appliqué or Wool Painting, Wet Felting or any other use your imagination can conjure up!

Wool carding, using a Drum Carder, is the process of brushing the wool with wire teeth, in this case, to separate the fibers and clean the wool to produce thin layers of fibers also known as a Batt. These are a fairly soft fiber and, in my opinion, are among the best for Needle Felting as they felt down to a sculptable density quickly, making them easy to use for any skill level to create all of your Needle Felting projects!

Due to the nature of the cleaning process, some vegetable matter may be left behind.
Because these batts are hand dyed commercially we cannot guarantee the color fastness or dye-lot consistency of any of these fibers. If you are making larger objects for which the color match is important, we recommend purchasing enough of the same color to complete your project.
